Insights | HORAN Named One of Ohio's Healthiest Employers

HORAN has been recognized as a 2022 Healthiest Employer of Ohio, an awards program created to honor people-first organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employee population. For nearly 75 years, HORAN has been helping individuals and organizations build plans that control health care costs, protect wealth and insure life. The company is routinely honored for focusing on the health and well-being of its employees in their Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton and Northern Kentucky offices.

Organizations were recognized with this awards thanks to their commitment to the workplace wellness and exceptional health and benefits offerings. Even with many employers returning to the office or to hybrid schedules, these organizations have adapted their workforces to reflect the ever-changing views of the modern American office. Increased flexibility, work-life balance, and mental health resources have proven to be common trends among Healthiest Employers honorees.

"Our people-first culture is at the very core of our company, and taking care of our best assets, our team members, has been the first priority since 1948," said Terrence L. Horan, President and Chief Executive Officer, CLU, ChFE, CAP. "We pride ourselves on practicing what we preach with our clients. We offer our staff a vast array of benefits options, health savings accounts, supplemental insurance, and flexible working conditions. By keeping our employees and their families happy and healthy, we can service our clients at the highest possible level."

In addition to be named one of Ohio's Healthiest Employers, HORAN has been recognized by the Cincinnati Business Courier as a finalist in their "Best Place to Work" awards for the 16th time, and won the honor four times, earned a great Place to Work certificate, and was named one of Dayton Business Journal's Healthiest Employers. HORAN also earned the LiveWell NKY Worksite Award and was twice named a Healthiest Workplace in America.

Award applicants were evaluated across six key categories: Culture and Leadership, Foundational Components, Strategic Planning, Communication and Marketing, Programming and Interventions, and Reporting and Analytics. Completed assessments were ranked with the proprietary Healthiest Employers® Index, a 1-100 rubric for wellness programming. The survey is scored and powered by Springbuk, a health intelligence platform that simplifies data-drive decision-making with an intuitive user experience, predictive modeling, and curated action steps.
